In just a few hours, we will kick off the 2023 Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta.

Saturday 28 October 2023, will be the 115th race for one of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron's most prestigious trophies, the historic Gascoigne Cup. The 2023 Gascoigne Cup will mark 137 years since it was first presented in 1886, as it was not awarded during the war years.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, 27 September, Noel Phelan will join us at the Club to talk about the wonderful and peculiar history of flying boats.

Over the weekend, we were represented by several youth Members in the NSW IODA Optimist Teams Racing Regatta at Hunters Hill Sailing Club.

The countdown is officially on for the 2023 Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta held over the long weekend, from 29 September to 1 October at RSYS. In just ten days, we will kick off a weekend of training and racing with an all-star lineup of world-class coaches. 

The sun shone, flags fluttered, and the Club was a riot of colour as Members and their guests thronged on the hardstand to observe the water activities.

RSYS was represented by our SKP SAustralian Open Match Racing Championships hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania (RYCT) from the 2 - 3 September.

The RSYS representative team of Zac West (helm), Annabelle Connery (main), Lauren Tandy (tactics), Jameson Prescott (trim), and Massimo Henderson (bow) competed at the Sailing Champions League Youth Final in Kiel Germany from the 1st to 3rd of September.

Our RSYS Representative Team has achieved outstanding results in the Tideway UK J/70 National Championship as the first Youth team, placing 14th overall.

This year, for the first time, there will be a major prize of a Cellar Dinner for eight people valued at $1800, drawn from boats that enter and participate in the Parade of Sail.
