New Parade of Sail Participation Prize

As we farewell Winter, we are officially ten days away from Season Opening Day at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.

Our traditional Parade of Sail will commence at 1100 hrs and will be escorted by the Lady Hopetoun, the pride of the Sydney Heritage fleet.

This year, for the first time, there will be a major prize of a Cellar Dinner for eight people valued at $1800, drawn from boats that enter and participate in the Parade of Sail. This is in addition to prices for all participating boats who will receive a bottle of wine and a cheese hamper.

Dress your boat with bunting, decorations and other fancy accoutrements. Fancy dress for your vessel’s crew is also a fun tradition. The Commodore will award prizes for best dressed and for our Members’ choice.

For land dwellers, the day is an opportunity to soak up the garden party atmosphere and watch the sailing activities from the lawn and hardstand. A live band will entertain you and we will serve complimentary canapés to all who attend. There will be a jumping castle on the lower lawn for the kids.

The Careening Cove Anchorage will also be open for breakfast and lunch.

Season Opening Day is a magnificent way to get down to the Club and connect with your fellow Members.

We look forward to seeing you next weekend.
