RSYS is formulating its response to the current situation in Sydney and will post again shortly. Please check in again regularly for the latest news on sailing, waterfront and clubhouse activities.
6 January 2021
Dear RSYS Members & guests,
The current COVID situation in Greater Sydney is very volatile. As a club, the health and welfare of our Members and staff continues to be of the highest priority.
We are guided by NSW Health, our total capacity at the club is restricted to 300, ensuring that we have 4 square metres of space in indoor areas and 2 square metres of space in outdoor areas.
We are now using the NSW Government QR code system for Members and guests checking in to the Club in all areas (Dining areas / Tenders / Hardstand.) Please enter the clubhouse via the CCA sail area. Access to Level 4 (Reception) is currently restricted to assist with the COVID sign-in procedures. There is now an additional Host desk under the sail in the CCA to streamline this sign in procedure.
When racing, all sailors are still required to be registered via SailSys before the race start.
All staff in a customer related role will be wearing face masks, and we ask that Members also wear a mask when visiting the Fort Denison Cellar, Wudyong House Crested Goods Outlet, all indoor office areas including Reception, the Waterfront Office, the Sailing Office, the Accounts & Administration office.
Conditions of Entry to RSYS
Please do not enter the Squadron by land or water if you or any member of your household:
Dining reservations
Members, please make advance reservations for the Dining Room and CCA, even if you are just popping in for coffee. This helps us to comply with COVID rules and ensures that we have sufficient staff to offer you first class service.
Tender
Maximum capacity on the tenders is 6 passengers. Please access the tender service via the driveway as there is strictly no access through the Boatyard. To ease the pressure on the tender service and to reduce waiting times, only one pick up to each boat is available. Drop your crew off at the outer pontoon and take your vessel back to the your mooring with one crew member to assist.
The tender service runs on Monday until 4pm, Tuesday until 8pm, Wednesday until 6pm, Thursday until 4pm, Friday until 8pm, Saturday & Sunday until 6pm. The pick up/drop off area is a 5 minute zone, available to collect and drop off crew members. Strictly no berthing anywhere on the inner pontoon.
Two hour berthing is by booking only. Bookings can be made with the Waterfront Team by calling 9017 0161 or emailing louise@rsys.com.au. On weekends, call the Dockmaster on 0405 971 800. Available each day between 8am to 4pm.
All vessels entering the Pond must contact the Dockmaster via VHF radio channel 73 (call sign “Squadron Tender”) or call 0411 586 314. No vessels are to be left unattended in the Pond at any time without prior permission from the Waterfront Manager or Dockmaster.
Friday Twilight Tender Service
These restrictions will ensure we get everyone back to the Club in a timely and COVID safe manner.
We appreciate Members’ ongoing support.
