Due to COVID-19, the 2020/21 Etchells Worlds which were scheduled for November in Perth have been postponed by 12 months. As a result, the National Association has reorganised the season schedule and the Australian Championship will now take place in Sydney from 10-14 January 2021.

More details to follow.
7 – 11 February 2021
RSYS hosts one of Australia’s most prestigious match racing events, the Hardy Cup, as an Under 25 World Sailing Grade 3 International Event.
The Hardy Cup was donated by Sir James Hardy (Event Patron), an America’s Cup winner, World Champion, Olympic yachtsman, and prominent RSYS member to promote the match racing helming skills and tactical skills of young sailors.
The racing for the Hardy Cup will be held on the magnificent Sydney Harbour set with the backdrop of the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
RSYS is in an excellent position to provide immediate access to the Harbour and racing areas. Further to this fantastic location, RSYS intends to provide a Race Management and Umpire team of the highest order to give each team the best possible match racing conditions.
The event is sailed in the Club’s fleet of Elliott 7s yachts and has received entries from across Australia and around the world, including Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and USA.

Stepping Stone House Regatta
SSH has been helping young people to rebuild their lives for over 30 years, and RSYS has been the Principal Sponsor since 2000.
Every March, RSYS hosts this fundraising regatta, it’s lots of fun and a great way to give your company some exposure – boat and individual sponsorship packages are available.
A Word from our Regatta Chairman, RSYS Member Max Connery
I am thrilled that this is our 21st Regatta and our 31st year of providing “family” accommodation for young people. Each year the Regatta and Bridge Day raise a substantial sum which is vital to help us care for these homeless young people who come to us through no fault of their own. I ask you to be involved again as this Regatta is very important for the ongoing success of Stepping Stone.
From RSYS Commodore, David Ward
The Squadron is delighted again to host the annual Stepping Stone House Regatta which we have done for 21 years. It is a terrific day (even if it rains, hails or the sun shines!) to celebrate the great work the Stepping Stone House team does to support young people in need with a safe haven and nurturing spirit. Our members are proud to be involved and we always welcome sailors from other Clubs on this fun day.

It is open to:
– Keelboats and one design fleets
– Spinnaker & non-spinnaker

– Female helm with female crew.
For all participants, across racing and race management, the event will aim to challenge and nurture crews with mentors providing the opportunity for all to enhance their capabilities, build confidence and develop skills on the water.
Racing will be conducted with short windward/leeward courses on Sydney Harbour both afternoons. In the morning, notable Australian yachtswomen will provide coaching sessions and in-boat mentoring. To ease our participants into the day, we will hold Hatha style Yoga sessions on the Club lawns overlooking the harbour.
