Since its inception in 2001, the Hardy Cup has been hotly contested by under 25’s teams and has maintained a World Sailing Grade 3 international event status. The previous winner of the event include David Gilmour, Adam Minoprio and Michael Dunstan,
Racing for the event is held over four days on the magnificent Sydney Harbour with the backdrop of the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Further to this fantastic location, RSYS always provides a world-class Race Management and Umpire team to provide the best possible racing conditions.
The event is sailed in the Club’s fleet of Elliott 7s yachts and has previously received entries from across Australia and around the world, including Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and USA.
Stepping Stone House Regatta
25 March 2021
SSH has been helping young people to rebuild their lives for over 30 years, and RSYS has been the Principal Sponsor since 2000.
Every March, RSYS hosts this fundraising regatta, it’s lots of fun and a great way to give your company some exposure – boat and individual sponsorship packages are available.
A Word from our Regatta Chairman, RSYS Member Max Connery
I am thrilled that this is our 21st Regatta and our 31st year of providing “family” accommodation for young people. Each year the Regatta and Bridge Day raise a substantial sum which is vital to help us care for these homeless young people who come to us through no fault of their own. I ask you to be involved again as this Regatta is very important for the ongoing success of Stepping Stone.
From RSYS Commodore, David Ward
The Squadron is delighted again to host the annual Stepping Stone House Regatta which we have done for 21 years. It is a terrific day (even if it rains, hails or the sun shines!) to celebrate the great work the Stepping Stone House team does to support young people in need with a safe haven and nurturing spirit. Our members are proud to be involved and we always welcome sailors from other Clubs on this fun day.
