Letter from the Commodore
6 February 2020
We are excited to reveal the 2020 Conceptual Master Plan. We believe it appropriately summarises the feedback from our Member Surveys, our subsequent feasibility investigations and proposes terrific development opportunities for current and future generations of Members.
The potential works encompassed by this plan range from short term improvements to longer term projects. They are too numerous to list here but include redesigning the layout of the CCA; enhancing the Neutral Bay Verandah; a new dinghy launch pontoon; extending the ladies lavatories; improved access to the CCA from the hardstand; a gym facility; a children’s playground; upgrading our kitchen and clubhouse bedrooms to ensuites and more…
These projects have been grouped into ‘Stages’, colour-coded according to a range of filters applied to the projects.
Our architect’s drawings are displayed along the corridor leading past the Cellar to the Careening Cove for your review. I encourage all Members visiting the Squadron to peruse these diagrams and the accompanying descriptions to gain an appreciation for the variety and scale of developments that have been considered by your General Committee. We have also published the plans below for the convenience of those unable to visit in person.
We will hold two ‘Town Hall’ meetings for all Members at 5.30pm on Wednesday 19 February in the Careening Cove and Thursday 20 February in the Carabella Room, at which we will describe in greater detail the nature and scope of the proposed building works. This will be an opportunity for you to raise any questions you may have. As space is limited, please send your expression of interest to Reception to assist us with numbers.
We are enthusiastic about the many advantages that this Conceptual Master Plan will confer on today’s Members and confident that it will benefit future generations at our Club.
