Rupert Henry and Greg O'Shea raced Chinese Whisper to smash the Melbourne to Osaka Race Record earlier this year.
The Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race is the longest ocean race in the world, with the exception of the circumnavigation races. Adding to the challenges created by the huge distance of 5500NM are that it is a two-handed race, competitors must endure the hardships of an equator crossing, the Doldrum latitudes and the frontal latitudes of both the Southern and Northern hemispheres. The physical, emotional, navigational and technical challenges are huge, especially when attempting the race in a 62 foot grand prix race yacht that had the potential to either to break the race record or destroy the two men sailing her in the attempt...
