IFR Schedule of Events and Information

 For those members interested in all the activities of the 2013 International Fleet Review please see the below information for this very special event.

 

Saturday 5th October is set to be one of the most exciting days on the Harbour. The club has various events planned throughout the course of the day, information can be found in the clubs IFR Brochure.

 

Public Transport

With the busy Milsons Point and Kirribilli area and the limited parking available at the club it may be appropriate for some members to use public transport to get to and from the club. As part of the festivities NSW Transport has put on extra services throughout the busy periods. Maps, information and transport planning is available from the website.

Tender Services

Extended tender services will be offered to members from Thursday 3rd October until Sunday 6th October. Please be reminded that Sunday 6th October is the start of NSW daylight saving. Tender Servie hours during this time shall be;

  • Thu 3rd October 0800 – 1900hrs
  • Fri 4th October   0700 – 1900hrs
  • Sat 5th October  0700 – 2200hrs
  • Sun 6th October 0800 – 1800hrs
  • Mon 7th October 0800 - 1800hrs
 

Club Functions

On Saturday 5 October the following options will be available for Members and their guests wishing to celebrate this very special Harbour event;

  • RSYS IFR Family Day, 10am – 3pm, to be held on the Club’s magnificent harbourside grounds. Food and beverage stalls will be dotted around the lawns and a jumping castle provided for the kids. Bookings are not required however an indication of attendance would be appreciated for catering purposes, please phone 9955 7171.
  • RSYS IFR Buffet Lunch, 12pm - 3.30pm where you can enjoy the fleet review from the comfort of the Carabella Room. Tickets are $65 per person and bookings are essential. Please phone 02 9955 7171 for bookings.
  • RSYS IFR Careening Cove Anchorage Dinner, 5pm - til 9.30pm where you can enjoy the evenings fireworks and the brasserie menu.

  • 6.00am-4.00pm Warships enter Sydney Harbour
  • 9.30am-10.30am Air displays by Navy Squirrel Display Team and RAAF Roulettes.
  • 9.30am-5.00pm Tall Ships day sails. Location: Sydney Harbour.
  • 10.00am Ceremonial Fleet Entry and 21 Gun Salute. HMA Ships Sydney, Darwin, Perth, Parramatta, Bundaberg, Diamantina and Yarra. Location: Sydney Harbour/Bradleys Head.
  • 9.45am-10.15am Navy Helicopter Display and RAAF Roulettes. Location: Bradley's Head, Sydney Harbour.
  • 11.00am-4.00pm Australian Surf Rowers Reception. Location: Sydney Opera House.

  • 10.00am-7.00pm RAN and International military band performances. Location: Sydney Opera House Forecourt and Bradfield Park.
  • 10.30am-10.45am Navy Helicopter Display Team. Location: Farm Cove, Sydney Harbour.
  • 11.00am-2.30pm Ceremonial Fleet Review. Location: Sydney Harbour.
  • 11.20am-11.40am Formation Flypast. Location Sydney Harbour.
  • 12.00noon-12.30pm Navy Helicopter Display Team. Location: Shark Island, Sydney Harbour.
  • 2.15pm-5.30pm 'Salute to Navy' Air Displays. Location: Sydney Harbour.
  • 7.40pm-8.10pm Fireworks and Lightshow Spectacular. Location: Sydney Harbour.

  • 10.00am-11.30am HMAS Sydney (I) Memorial Service. Location: Naval Memorial, Bradley's Head.
  • 1.00pm-6.00pm Warships Open Day. Location: Fleet Base East, Garden Island and Barangaroo.
  • 2.00pm-3.30pm Ecumenical Service. Location: St Mary's Cathedral.
