ICOYC
The International Council of Yacht Clubs (ICOYC) is an international body and RSYS has been a member since 2003.
The Council’s mission is to foster closer relations at Flag Officer and General Management level between leading yacht clubs around the world in order to improve the quality of the yachting and other services they provide to their members. The Council also promotes a proper awareness of the environment and responsibility towards it.
When travelling, RSYS Members are welcome to visit ICOYC clubs and make use of their facilities. Typically this would include clubhouse access and the ability to book accommodation where available. Prior to your visiting any of these clubs, a letter of introduction from RSYS stating the period of your visit will be required. Cruise of the Chesapeake, Annapolis, Maryland, USA
29 September – 6 October 2023
A week-long Cruise of the Chesapeake Bay that guarantees great times and lasting memories on beautiful Chesapeake Bay.
Hosted by the Annapolis Yacht Club, it will begin and end in Annapolis, Maryland, arguably the Sailing Capital of the World. This cruise will balance fascinating tours of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and historic St. Michaels, with quiet anchorages among pristine shorelines. You’ll visit historic towns, as you step back in time, and learn how each played a part in the American Story. Witness restoration projects designed to return the Bay to its roots of abundance and home to many species of wildlife. World famous Chesapeake Bay crabs and marvellous local cuisine will also be among the many highlights.
We anticipate sending a RSYS contingent of 18 and chartering three 50ft yachts.
Cruising the Sunshine Coast of Canada with the ICOYC

As we all know, September each year heralds the beginning of the Sailing Season down under. However 2018 was different for 13 Squadron Members who embarked on the ICOYC cruise out of Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC), British Columbia.

In September 2019 I travelled to Cork, Ireland to attend the 12th ICOYC ‘World Commodores’ Forum’, hosted by the Royal Cork Yacht Club. The Forum also coincided with the launch of RCYC’s Tricentenary celebrations that were to be celebrated during 2020 – an amazing accomplishment.
