Presentation Many women have now completed successful circumnavigations of the world, competed and won in the classic yacht races and won gold at the Olympics and Para Olympics. Kay Cottee, pictured, was the first woman to sail around the world, nonstop and single handed in 1987/88. Jessica Watson repeated the voyage in 2009/10.
