A light westerly for Winter race 6

Ken Chase of Kerstin III writes, ‘After a cool morning it was cracking day to be on Sydney Harbour, with a light westerly breeze and plenty of sunshine.

From the start at Shark Island, Sea Rug Hoo Haa, Zeus II and Kirsten III were very close around N2 and back to Point Piper. Kirsten III was short a couple of crew but those on board did a great job with our larger spinnaker. We made it to the front of the fleet on the third leg, a good place to be in a dying breeze.

Heading to the north-west, we were very pleased that the race officials saw fit to shorten the course at the laid mark, south west of Robertson Point.’
