Designed in 1968 the Yngling shares many of the classic lines of it bigger brother the Soling.
Like the Soling it is also an International and Olympic class boat and also sailed by three crew.
Unlike the Soling it can easily be sailed by 3 young (or “more experienced”) lightweight crew with no difficulty.
Current sailing competition at RSYS ranges from the Warn sisters (rumoured to be in their 70’s) to Nicky Bethwaite and her Olympic crew to graduates from the youth sailing program.
Due to the one design nature of the class the racing is extremely close, tactical and an excellent stepping stone for those wanting to develop into larger keel boats or yachts.
