Yachties who have sailed the coast of Turkey can’t stop extolling the beauties of those waters and the historic ports and villages along this ancient coastline.
This winter, an RSYS member could win such a trip for two people by participating in the Squadron’s Winter Series starting on Saturday, May 3, with Mariner Boating Holidays sponsoring the event.
First prize will be two places in the Lycian Yacht Rally – Turkey 2009 from May 16-30, with the winner
being drawn from competitors who have competed in 75% of this year’s Winter Series races.
The trip will include international flights and two weeks for two people on a yacht in the Rally, with a total value of about $16,000.
The Squadron’s Winter Series is proving increasingly popular because of Sydney’s generally quite balmy winter weather and the quieter Harbour activity at this time of the year.
Racing begins from 11:55am and races are usually finished by 3:00pm, with prizes being presented back in the convivial atmosphere of the Squadron clubhouse.
Entries are being accepted for both spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions.
