Welcome to the Division 1 Home Page

24 April 2007

Of the ten yachts racing in Division 1 for the Main Season Point score, eight yachts scored at least one win on corrected time. The point score was very close all season and going in to the last race any of four yachts were capable of winning the season. The ultimate winner Commodore Bill Woods KOOKABURRA III a Beneteau 40.7 beat SYDNEY by 22 seconds on corrected time in the last race earning a one point advantage to capture the overall prize with Past Commodore and Life Member Bruce Dickson’s NORSKE in third place.

The Spring and Summer Point Scores are equally well raced with ten yachts regularly competing in Spring and thirteen in the Summer which saw eleven of the yachts take a podium place. EQUINOX won the Spring point score from NORSKE beating SYDNEY by half a point for third with JACKIE CLARE another half a point back for fourth. The Commodore in the well sailed KOOKABURRA III cleared out with a seven point lead in the Summer Point Score but the next four yachts all finished within a point of each other including a tied score for fourth place. KOOKABURRA III won from SASKIA and SYDNEY.
