Incident reporting

Process for Reporting Accidents

It is a condition of the Squadron's Aquatic Licence that the Squadron comply with the NSW Maritime regulations for reporting incidents occurring on the water.

For a full explanation of the reporting requirements following a marine accident please read this document.

NSW Maritime expects the organising Club to investigate incidents that occur within their licensed event under the rules that the vessels were competing or racing.

For incidents between yachts racing in a RSYS event, which does not result in a protest, or if you expect to lodge an insurance claim, NSW Maritime and Yachting NSW have produced a simplified Vessel Incident Report form.

For incidents between yachts from different clubs or when not racing, the normal NSW Maritime Incident Report is required to be completed.

Lodge the completed forms with the Sailing Office.
