This year  marks the 40th anniversary of the Yngling, designed by Jan Herman Linge in the winter 1967-1968,  with the first seven boats sailing in the 1968 season in Denmark.  The class has been sailed out of the Squadron for many seasons.

The three-crew keelboat class is heading towards 4,000 boats worldwide and will be the women’s keelboat class at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,  with Australia represented by the RSYS crew of Krystal Weir,  Karyn Gojnich and Angela Farrell.

The World Championship will be sailed over 10 races, with the first competition scheduled for July 6.
