A number of red flags were flying at the finish, including on the two top placed boats and progress points are provisional.

Optimum has lodged a protest against the US boat Illusion,  placed seventh overall while another US boat, Groovederci has lodged protests against both Optimum and Masclazone Latino.

After notching up two wins and a 3rd on day one, Optimum finished 9th in the first race on day two on Rhode Island Sound.   However, Stening and his crew fought back with a win in race five and provisional 2nd in race six.

After six races, Optimum is provisionally on 17 points,  Masclazone Latino on 19 points,  with a big gap to third placed Barking Mad, skippered by former M30 and Farr 40 World Champion Jim Richardson, from Newpot, RI.

Australian Bruce Eddington, skippering Southern Sun, began day two with a 5th and a 7th but was an non-finisher in race six, leaving the team in 11th place overall.
