Action from the 2007 M30 Worlds

Stening won the 2008 Coastal Living Sail Newport Regatta in July, so he is no stranger to Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island which, until Australia II’s historic victory 25 years ago, were the waters on which the America’s Cup was sailed.

Hometown favorite Jim Richardson's Barking Mad finished race one  in 7th place, was 2nd in race two and 6th in race three to finish the day in 3rd place overall, one point back from Mascalzone Latino.

As in the Rolex Farr 40 Worlds, there are two Groovederci's sailing this week.  Deneen Demourkas sailing Groovederci 706 finished day one in 4th overall with 15 points (tied with Barking Mad) and husband John sailing Groovederci 35 is in fifth overall with 21 points.

Canadian Geoff Brown (Toronto, ONT) sailing Mummy is lying 6th and is currently tied on points with Groovederci 35.

Two other Australian crews are competing the M30 Worlds, with former Australian champion Bruce Eddington in Southern Sun 14th overall after day one and Lewis Perrin 18th overall.
