Big Boat Graduation Sail 2007 on 'Sydney'

The LOTS programme has been designed for women by women with one of the primary objectives being to encourage the growth of women’s sailing at the Squadron within a supportive environment.

The courses aim to develop independent sailing skills for women on the Squadron owned Yngling fleet (three person keel boats).

 

2011 SCHEDULE

Dear Ladies, we are pleased to announce the following two courses:

 

LOTS STAGE 2 - Advanced 3 Days Course

16-18 May 2011

Open to Squadron members and previous LOTS STAGE 1 GRADUATES

Applications will be reviewed by the program coach prior to confirmation of entry.
 
HERE IS A GREAT WAY TO CONSOLIDATE YOUR SAILING SKILLS!
 
Course content:
Sailing in a variety of boats (Elliotts/Ynglings/Lasers TBC) increase your knowledge, and confidence on the water.  Build on skills acquired in the Ladies on the Sea - Level 1 introductory course.   Improve your overall boat handling and control sailing in all directions as both a helm and a crew in this three day intensive on water program.
 
Duration: 3 consecutive days, 16-18 May (9:30-4pm)
 
Assumed knowledge:
Building on the foundations of Ladies of the Sea introductory course.  Prepared to assume any position in the boat, including the helm, for exercises during the course. A willingness to do session on Lasers despite the cooler weather!
 
Ability after the course:
More confident in sailing skills, techniques and responsibilities on the boat as both a helm and a crew member.

LOTS STAGE 1 - Beginners / Level 1 Introductory Spring Course

August/September - November 2011

Duration: 9 consecutive Sundays, dates tbc

The course schedule includes a theory session in the morning from 11.30am to noon, a practical session on the Squadron owned Ynglings (a 3 person keel boat) from around 1.00pm and a debrief at around 3.30 to 4.30pm. This will be modified due to the weather conditions on the day to provide the best sail training.

The course will be limited to 15 participants and open to Squadron members or wives, mothers, daughters, grand-daughters, grand-mothers and regular sailing crew of Squadron members.
